This site is about the Scott County Amateur Radio Club (SCARES) which was founded in the mid 1990’s by Ted James. Scott County is located about twenty minutes north of Lexington Kentucky, The county seat and main city of Scott County is Georgetown KY.
The club started off with meetings at Georgetown College. Over the years the club has had classes for new Amateur Radio Operators. The simplex frequency that is used is 147.49 and the club has a repeater at 146.850 that is toned for 107.2 The repeater can by accessed from the surrounding counties including most of Lexington, KY. The repeater is open for use by any Radio Amateur.
There are regular monthly meetings normally on the 3rd Saturday of every month beginning at 9 AM.
